Introducing the Feisty Freelancer book (in 2025)

Hi Feisties,

I wanted you to be the first to hear my good news - The Feisty Freelancer will be published in January 2025 by Dundurn Press!

Since I first drafted The Feisty Freelancer in 2015 as an ebook for my students in the Professional Writing and Communications program at Humber College, I've wanted to turn it into a published book. After all, I created it because I couldn’t find just the right text to help students feel both challenged and supported in starting a writing business. What better reason to start writing one myself!

Now I’ve expanded that original manuscript, adding additional topics and whole new chapters to reflect evolving elements of freelancing (looking at you, AI). I’ve also added a bunch of Q&As with other writers to provide different perspectives than my own on this whirlwind adventure that is freelancing.

That’s all for today as I have a manuscript to finish (these things take WAY long to come to life) but I’ll keep you posted on the progress, and in the meantime, more insights from everyday freelancing life.
