Hello Feisty friends, it’s been a while.
Rereading my last missive from December, I said I’d see you in the new year. Technically it is still the new year. If a little further into it than planned.
And if you’re new here, welcome!
This newsletter has been an experiment in sharing my learnings from 20+ years of freelancing. And it will continue to be, just a little less frequently. I’m moving to a biweekly schedule (the every other week one, not the twice a week one - does anyone know how to use this word?!) I’m also exploring new other ways to share tips and get others involved - so stay tuned for that.
Speaking of new projects, I’ve also continued to call for feisty freelance followers to join me in new cohorts of my training program - the latest launches this week and I’ll launch another mid-September. More information on the Feisty Freelancer website.
It’s been a busy six months here at Feisty HQ - in addition to serving clients with my strategy and content creation business CodeWord Communications, keeping up with my monthly CodeWord newsletter, and teaching students through the Professional Writing and Communications program, I also co-chaired the Editors Canada national conference, which went well and brought us all together for the first time since the pandemic (and was also a lot of work!)
Now I’m regrouping and thinking about new ways to help those who are also ready to get feisty in the freelance world. I think we need to share information more than ever now, given the changes that may be looming (hello, AI….) Since nobody ever got anywhere by standing still, it will be great to collaborate on next steps. Speaking of which, I’m open to your feedback and ideas for this newsletter and the feisty empire.
Until then, see you in two weeks. Approximately.
Sue
